The King’s Voices

This wonderful choir will join our 11am Service on Palm Sunday. They will sing a Palestrina Mass setting for the service. We begin marching triumphantly into Jerusalem (from the Parsonage Hall to the church) following Jesus singing Hosanna! and then soon after hear the horror of his Passion and Death upon the Cross.

We are also delighted to welcome our former chaplain the Revd John de Wit and his wife Pam who will be visiting the congregation for this service and there will be time for fellowship and refreshments afterwards.

Bishop’s Lent Appeal

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Rationale My last two appeals have been for aid for migrants coming into Italy and Greece. They related to work in our own diocese. This appeal, by contrast, is for the education of Palestinian children in the Holy Land. It relates to our neighbouring diocese of Jerusalem and the Middle East. Education is of vital importance in attempts to secure a peaceful future for the Middle East. Education makes…

Christmas Message from Bishop Robert

My eldest daughter, Ruth, used to work for a famous high street retailer. Sadly, the stress in and around Christmas was one of the reasons that she left them. In Utrecht East, the traders association Puur Oost, a day care for people with disabilities, De Wilg and some of the local churches have once again joined hands to organize a lights tour through the neighborhood and the Wilhelmina Park on Friday 18th December.  In Utrecht Oost the Christmas story comes to the streets in scenes and narratives and with Christmas music by choirs with candle flames along the designated route. In order for this…

Christian Student Life in Utrecht

This outline of student ministry in Utrecht is from Judith Riet (above). The new school year has started and in Utrecht that means the university and colleges have started as well. Did you know the city welcomes 15,000 new students every year? About 20% of the city population is student. Perhaps you have noticed the influx of students cycling badly, who try to get to college on time by blatantly ignoring all other traffic and…
