Pilgrimage to Taizé

Last summer André, Angela, Vera, Julia, Emilie, Thomas and Arthur went to Taizé to deepen their faith. In this article Thomas, Julia and Emilie share their experiences with us. Thomas’ story  I had never been in Taizé before, nor had any idea what to expect. We found a nice spot where we set up our camp after a ten hour drive from Amersfoort. We started the program with the light service, where everyone received a…

Nazareth Abbey Weekend

Three HTC-ers at the Nazareth Abbey weekend, August 2017  The three of us – Danielle, Madeleine and Nicky – set off on the Friday the 18th of August. Ella’s “Songs of Praise” Anniversary revisited

On Sunday October 15th, our long singing alto Ella was honoured for her contribution to worship at Holy Trinity church over the past 60 years. In recognition of the gift of her voice, and indeed her achievement in being ever present during those years, she was presented with  a hand-made brooch and a few well chosen words from the Choir master, Henk Korff. This on behalf of the church and congregation. We hope that Ella’s…

Kids Choir

We’re starting up again! The kids’ choir has been running for several months now and the children have already sung for us on a few occasions. This season we think it would be great if we could start contributing more regularly to church services, by hopefully singing every first Sunday in the month (during the all-age worship services). To reach this goal we could use some help, and that is where you come in! We…

Ella’s “Songs of Praise” Anniversary at Holy Trinity

Ella Schoonhoven celebrates her 60th anniversary as a chorister at Holy Trinity Church Utrecht this September. Her passion to sing in our Church started when she was just sixteen years old – 1956! – and our church remains not only her spiritual home, but also the place where she can express her faith through singing in our choir. Ella came from a strong Dutch Reformed background, with her father one of the elders of the nearby…
