Nine lessons and Carols in Zwolle and Utrecht

Holy Trinity Utrecht Live-streamed a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on 19 December.  The music included carols by John Rutter, Emma Brown and Malcom Archer.  Sadly you could not join us in the church, but you could and can join us online from the comfort of your home. Unfortunately, the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at Anglican Church Zwolle was cancelled the day before it took place, due to the new Covid measures.

Bishop’s Advent Appeal

Bishop’s Advent Appeal for European Climate Disaster Relief 2021 Climate change is probably the biggest single issue facing humanity at present and into the future. When I speak to Anglican colleagues from around the world, I hear of its impacts in everything from threatened islands in Polynesia to desertification in sub-Saharan Africa. Thoughts on the daily bible readings – Trinity 17

A few thoughts to accompany our reading Philemon is the shortest letter of St Paul and one of the shortest books in the Bible. It is a person to person letter more than any other. [The letters to Timothy and Titus are partly personal but go on to address matters of church order and organisation]. A question I often find a useful way into a Scripture is to ask “what is it doing here?” In other…

Last Service

Last Sunday David Phillips led us in worship for the final time at Holy Trinity Church.Afterwards we held a well-attended farewell party in the parsonage garden. A song was sung, speeches were made, gifts were given and a variety of cake was eaten. Below are a few photographs of the afternoon.

The Interkerkelijk Contact in Overheidszaken (CIO) is an organization of representatives of Churches in the Netherlands (including the Anglican Church in the Netherlands) that has met with the Dutch Government to agree on a safe way to conduct our worship during the corona pandemic. Last March they developed a Routekaart that recommends steps to take depending on the level…

ICS invites you to come closer

At Holy Trinity, each month you can find the prayer update leaflet of the Intercontinental Church Society. Of course during this pandemic, it has become harder to reach people in this way. That is why the ICS invites you to come closer, by visiting their website and signing up for their newsletter. If you are interested, you can find the Come Closer page here. Or go to the hompage of ICS by clicking on the…
