Rehabilitating Adam – Just in time for Father’s Day

So, why do we think so poorly of Adam? A reading of the raw words of the Bible doesn’t. I mean, they could, but may I suggest for a moment that we are projecting our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of those around us on a man who – in reality – was actively and thoughtfully trying to do the right thing, rather than being passively complicit in the wrong thing. That would be astonishing, but I think it may even be true.

Holy Trinity has an away day! We have seen many people going with the church plant in Amersfoort. However many new people have since joined us in our weekly worship. Vicar of Bagdad visits Holy Trinity

Canon Andrew White, the Vicar of Bagdad, was here to speak with clergy – Anglican and otherwise – to share with us something of the experience of the persecuted Iraqi Christians and his ministry to them and among them. It was a powerful witness to us. He is going around privately, to raise funds for those who have fled to the North of Iraq or to Jordan.

He does so, while struggling with MS – so his speech is a little laboured, and he has trouble with his balance – he has a personal assistant to help him in his travels. But he shared with us his joy in these labours for the flock in his care.
